Nigga this Nigga that.

Is it okay for me to call you a Nigga?
because I'm black!
As soon as the opposites do it we attack
As the whites laugh (Hahah <=== Laughter)  and chit-chat about black on black

We are mocking our ancestors with the want to be video vixens
Sarah Bartmen would be very disappointed in you children

Is it okay for me to call you a Nigga?
before or after I pull my trigger? (BOW BOW BOW)

We act like we don't know what our ancestors went through
Workin and slavin, slavin and workin
Fighting for our 13,15, and 19 amendments to make sure we ALL were able to voice our opinion

Is it okay for me to call you a Nigga?
beat you with my bear arms
I'm the slave killer!- Elona Shivers

Analysis: In my poem I used Onomatopoeia's like Sonia Sanchez. I made a Poem about slavery because Sonia Sanchez loves her history her ancestors like I do so I pulled figurative language from her poems.

Analysis on "Poem for some women"

Allusion: Sanchez uses allusion by singing "Mommas little baby, Mommas little baby, Mommas little baby loves shortening bread" Sanchez explains how the mother of the poem tries to comfort her child by singing letting her child know everything would be alright.

Theme: The theme was how strong the mothers crack addiction was how the mother would do anything to get high even give away her own child to be raped by her crack man the love she had for crack defeated the love she had for her daughter.

Figurative Language: Sonia Sanchez compares the daughters eyes to "Puppy dog eyes" when she came back to get her from the crack house.

Tone: The tone was critical the mother knew she was at fault that's why she bought her daughter a leather jacket to think she'd find forgiveness from her daughter.

Final Interpretation: "Poem for some women" Is about a mother who is heavily addicted to crack and she's brings her daughter to the crack house with her to explain why she sometimes is late. The mother has no money to purchase her crack and she tries to have sex with her drug dealer but he refuses for the first time he looks at her daughter and says " I want her, I need a virgin". The mother received the crack and left her daughter 7 year old there for a week. When she came back to get her the mother was very resentful about what she had done she had realize by then she loved her daughter more then the crack by then it was to late.

I enjoyed this poem, it was very deep it goes in detail very well. While listening to this poem I Could visualize everything through out the entire poem. This poem gave me a heart broken feeling I felt bad for the child in the poem.

Analysis On "The Middle Passage"

Allusion: Sonia Sanchez says "Watch as I take you through the middle passage". Sonia Sanchez is relating slavery to the middle passage.

Theme: I believe the theme of the poem is showing all of the struggles not only that African-American slaves went through but what how America treated our ancestors. the theme is about the overall struggles of African-Americans and how America and the people over came it all.

Figurative Language: Sanchez uses a constant of alliteration in her piece. Sanchez explains the rapeing of slaves and she states "It was the giving birth that was bad(2x), Every nine months(7x)"
Tone: The tone was very exaggerated, Sanchez exaggerated her words and phrases to stress what our ansectors went through.

Final Interpretation: Sanchez starts the listeners off with a bit of background information of where her poem was coming from and states "What does it mean to be human?" She read her poem about the middle passage and how passangers were brought to america and then became slaves.
Sanchez went on to explain how Jews and Gays were treated like "Terrorist" to humanity.

I didn't like this poem it bored me. Sanchez used a great amount of onomatopeias in her piece out of all of her pieces that I've read this poem is my least favorite I had no intrest in it.
